Holidays

Our company normally observes the following holidays during the year:

  • New Year's Day
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day

  • Christmas Day
  • Juneteenth

If one of the holidays falls on Saturday, it normally is observed on the preceding Friday. If a holiday falls on Sunday, it normally is observed on the following Monday.

Holiday Pay

1. Regular Full-Time Employees

Regular Full-Time employees are eligible for full Holiday Pay after thirty (30) days of employment.

 

2. Regular Part-Time Employees

Regular Part-Time Employees who work more than 20 hours per week (40 hours per pay period) are eligible for Holiday pay on a pro-rated basis using a ratio of 50% or 75% based on hours worked for their designated benefits group after thirty (30) days of employment. Part-Time employees working 30-39 hours per week will be eligible for the 75% ratio. Part-Time employees working 20-29 hours per week will be eligible for the 50% ratio.

Paid Time Off

1. Regular Full-Time Employees

Annual Leave accrues at the rate of 10 days (80 hours) per full 12 months of employment for each Regular Full-Time Employee during the first three (3) years with MILVETS. For an employee who has been employed by MILVETS for three (3) years and more (36 full calendar months), Annual Leave will accrue at the rate of 15 days per full calendar year.

 

2. Regular Part-Time Employees

Annual Leave accrues for each Regular Part-Time Employee who works a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week. Part-Time employees working 30-39 hours per week will be eligible for 75% of the leave accrual. Part-Time employees working 20-29 hours per week will be eligible for 50% of the leave accrual. Regular part-time leave will always be prorated using a base of ten (10) days per year and will not escalate to fifteen 15 days (after three years).

Health Insurance

Eligible full-time and part-time employees may enroll on the first of the month following thirty days of employment. Eligibility may be defined by state law and/or by the insurance contract. To assist with the cost of insurance, our company pays a portion of the contract. Employees are responsible for paying the balance through payroll deduction. Participating employees are also covered under our medical insurance plan's prescription drug program. Health benefits include:

Short Term and Long Term Disability

Short Term Disability

All full-time and part-time employees are eligible for the short-term disability insurance program on the first of the month after 30 consecutive days of employment. This insurance program is designed to provide income for you when you are absent from work for more than seven calendar days due to non-occupational illness, injury or pregnancy-related disability. The cost of this insurance is fully paid by the company.

 

Long Term Disability

Long-term disability insurance provides eligible employees with a continuing source of income after ninety consecutive days of total disability. The benefits are calculated as a percentage of your salary. The cost of this insurance is fully paid by the company.

401(k) Qualified Retirement Plan

Our company provides eligible employees with a 401(k) Qualified Retirement plan which is an excellent means of long-term savings for your retirement. The company's contribution, if any, is determined by the employer on an annual basis.
