MILVETS provides the U.S. Dept. of Army with personnel, management, and any other items and services not provided by the Government, which are necessary to perform the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) Job Assistance Center (JAC) activities. These activities include providing assistance to Army personnel who are transitioning out of the service.

MILVETS will establish the JAC and employ clerical personnel to support administrative tasks such as maintaining an indexed filing system of employment-related information, maintaining a bulletin board of employment vacancies, and developing information to input in the Government-provided automated Army Employer Network.

MILVETS also maintains a reference library within the JAC, which contains hardcopy generic employment information and uses marketing techniques to continuously advertise all job assistance services throughout each installation and surrounding communities where soldiers, DA civilians, and their respective families reside. A qualified Job Specialist will be available to conduct seminars and workshops, in addition to providing individual assistance.
